[Things are relatively back to normal for Teddy. There's still a few awkward things to deal with here and there, but at least it's not nearly as bad as days ago, when the fake memories first wore off. He worked through it, and now he's here, serving people at Shot in the Dark with a smile and a friendly disposition.

He still hasn't found everyone he's looking for, but in a village as small as this? Ha, it's not even a tenth of New York City. He's sure he'll find them soon, so he simply doesn't worry. He'll find them when he does.]

[It's weird not having Simon there in the house and it feels big and empty when he's become so used to having someone there or at least, having a much smaller space. It's kind of impossible to get away from people most of the time at Abel so the sudden solitude is jarring.

He ends up spending a lot of time in town or at Jack's house and today, the coffee shop.

He heads up to the counter and then pauses when he sees the person there. It brings back memories of that shift, the people at school.

Still, he heads up to the counter, offering a small smile.]

Hi. Teddy, right?

[Teddy stares for a moment when he's greeted, knowing he's seen this person. That's right, during that shift, Theodore knew the guy. Theodore knew a lot of people, really, and Teddy was determined to find said people. So here's one of them now.

Once he figures out the face, Teddy smiles and places his hands on the counter.]

That's right. Heh, at least you're calling me that and not "Theodore". [God, he hates that name.] Sam, yeah?

[It takes a moment for him to be recognised but that's fine. He's been recognising a few people he hasn't technically met over the last few days.]

Yeah, that's me Good to finally meet uh... you I guess.

Same here, man. [He holds out his hand for a good handshake.] So let's introduce ourselves for real. Teddy Altman. Not a football player.

[Sam grins and takes his hand, shaking it firmly.]

Sam Yao. Not actually a high school student.

Uh... I'm 23. Not like some creepy old guy.

[With the weather consistently stormy, there's no better place to hole up in than at the coffee shop. It's quiet in the shop, likely due to the weather, but it's nice.

Ginia sits at one of the booths with a large cup of hot chocolate (one shot of caramel, whipped cream on top) and a newspaper. It's an interesting find from the item shop, a local newspaper for a Portland, Oregon dated to 2011. Large sections are missing, but it's still an interesting read.]

[Sam rushes into the coffee shop to escape a sudden rainshower that still manages to drench him, making him look kind of bedraggled. Hot chocolate is exactly what he needs right now too and he gets Eugene to make him an extra large one.

He glances around at the nearly empty coffee shop before settling on Ginia. he sort of recognises her from the pictures on the journal, bits of video and stuff that sometimes gets posted, and he heads over, smiling.]

Hi! It's Ginia, right?

[Ginia looks up at the sound of her name and approaching company. She quickly recognizes Sam from the journals and raises a hand in greeting, moving the newspaper aside to make space for him. She grabs her phone and quickly types up a message for him.]

Right. And you're Sam?

[The text is a little surprising, and he he looks confused for a moment before smiling. Whether she's taciturn or not able to speak, well, he's had enough experience with Five.]

Yeah! That's me. Good to actually meet you.

Good to meet you too. Talk about April showers bringing May flowers.

[He grins at that, and sits down opposite her.]

Seriously. We'd better get some really good flowers for this.

It'll be nice to see some color around here. I bet the memory garden is beautiful in full bloom.

[It's been looking a little more lively over the last few weeks. No doubt there'll be plenty of weeding to do as the season progresses.]

Yeah, yeah I bet it is. I should plant something there when the weather's a bit nicer. [He doesn't know what flowers Alice had liked, but he was sure she'd be grateful anyway.]

I'm alright. I mean, I'm sure people in Luceti would love to assure me that I should be paranoid and constantly on edge but... I'm fine.

Caution goes a long way, but paranoia serves no one.

[Though being cautious doesn't feel like it's enough.

There's a pause as Ginia weighs out her options, thumbs tapping lightly against the screen before she types.]

Been better. Droids grabbed me last week, got back a few days ago.

It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you.

[He says it with a grin. Even out on the road, jumping at shadows was just as likely to get you killed.

His face falls though when Ginia says that.]

What- no! Are you okay?

[Ginia tries to brush things of with a smile and a wave of her hand, but it still bothers her. The kidnapping, the torture, the way the village accepts it as a norm, it really does gnaw at her.]

No lasting affects if that's what you mean. Bit rattled, but I'm fine, really.

[He gives her a sceptical look. He doesn't trust the Malnosso, not one bit, even if he doesn't hate it here like so many others.]

If you're sure. But... if you need anything or... I don't know what I can do but if I can help...

[Everyone's quick to offer help and Ginia's still quick to suspect ulterior motives, but she knows some people, like Sam, are just good at heart. Her smile becomes slightly more genuine.]

I'll keep that in mind, thanks, but I think I just need time to sort things out and try to relax.

Sure. I can understand that. I hope you get chance before this plays throws something crazy at us again.

[Isn't that something they can all wish for. Ginia gives a small huff and a shrug.]

[Ginia grabs one of the pages of the newspaper and pushes it over to Sam, the main article for a citywide nude bicycle ride.]

[He takes the newspaper and just stares at the article for a moment, mouth slightly open.]

...I'm surprised they were allowed to print those photographs. It doesn't like a tabloid.

[Shocking, but some use of blurring and strategically placed body parts keeps things decent.]

Annual event according to the article. I've heard Portland likes to keep things weird.

Wow... would it uh... chafe?

What if you went over a really bumpy patch? Or a pothole?

Got someone who needs help caring for a chicken. Have any pointers?

Uh... I've heard what some of the people in New Canton said and some of the guys at Abel. They like to wander around and scratch at the ground for bugs and worms. And they get fed grain I think?

Oh, and they need to eat grit, like, small pebbles and stuff.

I've heard they like veggies too. But grit, right, chickens have gizzards. Shows what I know about raising chickens.

I knew I should have paid more attention to those history reality shows on TV. I just never thought I'd need to know what to feed a chicken on.

You never know what you end up needing to know in life. Horses, dogs, cats, those I can take care of. Chickens? Never crossed my mind.

I had enough trouble taking care of a goldfish when I was a kid. Chickens and farm animals were not things I had ever contemplated either.

I've heard fish are harder to take care of than most people think. Sensitive to water temperature and pH levels, can't give any real feedback to what they need, easy to overfeed.

Apparently I watered it less than it rains in the desert. But that's me, slayer of cacti, denier of water, bearer of a black thumb.

That takes some doing.
